Whether it's a draught beer, a glass of wine or one of our cocktails, this is where everyone swaps stories of the day's best runs, and every time the story gets a little better.

G. GIN

G. Gin: born of high spirits.

The idea was born on a night out with friends in Obertauern. We were tired of bad gin with cheap tonic, and in a moment of high spirits, Franz junior made a promise: we’ll just make our own. And a properly good one at that.

It wasn’t easy, but the effort paid off. G. Gin has won gold several times. It contains 13 botanicals, and which ones is our secret. The Destillata judges praised, among other things, its bold juniper, floral notes and long, dry finish. And at 47% ABV, it packs a real punch.

And the G.? It stands for Glöcknerin. Or for Gaumen, the palate. Or for Genuss, pure enjoyment. As for what else it might mean, just read the line on the bottle.

Try it neat, in a gin and tonic or in one of our cocktails, alongside the fruit brandies from our own distillery. And if you like it, you can buy a bottle to take home at reception.

QUIZ & FOOTBALL

Twice a week, it’s all about bragging rights.

At the family quiz, the kids have the edge, as some questions only the children can really answer. At the Obertauern quiz, you find out who really knows their ski resort. Winning is nice, joining in is compulsory. Ask at reception for this week’s dates.

And when the big match is on, you can watch it on our big screen, with a freshly pulled pint in hand.

Strike or gutter ball?

Our own bowling alley is the place to be for anyone who still has energy left after a day on the slopes. Perfect for families, groups of friends and last night’s rematch. Book the lane at reception; there is a charge for bowling.

Your boots are in the ski room, your legs are heavy and happy. This is when the first beer at the bar tastes best.

After dinner at Herzenslust, head back to the bar for a gin and tonic made with our own G. Gin, or a fruit brandy from our distillery.
